HenScratch is a five piece ensemble based in Boulder Colorado. The band formed in Sept. 2012, to perform at the first annual Mapelton Hill Porchfest. Uniting around a love for danceable roots music, and vocal harmonies. Blending Blues, Jazz, and Roots Country sounds, HenScratch creates their own version of Americana, or as they call it, Rocky Mountain Alt-Grass.
Original music forms the heart of their repertoire, with creative interpretations of traditional tunes, modern classics, and works from great American songwriters like John Hartford, Ralph Stanley, Dolly Parton, and Jay Ferrar.
