Pull up to the bar, order a whiskey and let the sounds of Casey James Prestwood and the Burning Angels take you back to a simpler time, when a steel guitar and fiddles ruled
and crooning wasn’t for overpaid pop stars. The group is made up of Casey James Prestwood(Lead vocals, guitar) of Hot Rod Circuit fame. Casey departed the indie rock scene to get back to what he knows and loves, good old, “Country and Western.” The Burning Angels are Jamie Davis(Lead Guitar), Jeff Martin(Bass, Backing Vocals), Kevin Finn (Drums, Backing Vocals), John Macy (Steel Guitar) and Jeremi Hanson (Backing Vocals). Together the group creates a sound that is as American as apple pie and as smoothas the finest bourbon. Casey James Prestwood and the Burning Angels have released four albums to date. The Hurtin’ Kind was Casey’s first release under his own moniker.
The album features smoking hot guitar on Skinny and an epic country ballad in Whiskey, Peroxide and Smoke. In 2009 Casey and his newly minted Burning Angels released Falling Apart at the Seams. The album features the fast-paced honky tonk of Rebel on My Side and the light-hearted lyrics of Stuff in the Yard. Released in May 2011 was a cover album paying tribute to country greats and also giving listeners a new take on some classics from Roy Orbison, Elvis, Patsy Cline and even a far reaching cover of Sade. Casey James Prestwood and the Burning Angels latest release, Honky Tonk Bastard World, inlcudes 13 cuts of all original music. This album was tracked in the hills near Nashville and was released in September, 2013.
